Getting ready to open the doors...
Woohoo! In the last 24 hours, we've raised more than $9,000 towards our $100,000 stretch goal. With 24 hours left, we're still pushing to make this dream come true!
If we get all the way there, we'll have enough funding to open the doors of the Braddock Tiles ceramics studio next year.
It's exciting -- but it's also just the beginning. Transforming the church building into a real community center will take many hands and likely many years. Thanks for joining us on this wild journey!

Hi folks --
With 7 days left, we're well past our first goal and still reaching for that $100,000 stretch goal! Thank you for taking us this far, and for spreading the word about Braddock Tiles.
Photographer friend Kat Kendon tagged along to our most recent volunteer week -- here's a behind-the-scenes look at how we make a relief tile:

Incredible! Thanks to you -- Braddock Tiles' 453 backers -- we've reached our $50,000 goal!
Thanks to you, we have the funding to renovate the church basement. But there's still so more more to do.
If we reach our $100,000 stretch goal, we can hire & train our first team of apprentices, providing good jobs to local young adults -- and purchase kilns, mixers & other tools & supplies that will power Braddock Tiles as a local business.
It's so great to see a community come together behind this project. Now we need your help again. Please help spread the word by sharing the project link on social media!
Your incredible generosity has taken us so far -- now let's make the next 13 days count!
Thank you!

Thanks!
And here's a closer look at one of our most popular rewards: the Zarif scarf. Braddock Tiles is all about the pride of place that comes from making beautiful things by hand. So we were thrilled to collaborate with our friends at Zarif Design on a Braddock Tiles signature scarf.
"Thirty years of war in Afghanistan has created a gap - a generation that doesn’t know who they are, disconnected from their cultural heritage as renowned artisans, trading with the world via the Silk Road. Zarif is about bridging this gap, about re-creating cultural identity, re-establishing Afghani artisanship using Afghani craft and Afghani silk." -- from a conversation with Zarif Design (http://zarifnyc.com/
)
The scarf is available in your choice of tan, blue and pink. Here's a few photos of the color choices -- and a look at the scarves being made by Zarif's artisans in Kabul:
